Column Descriptions - Hiring

Total Need FTE - Total full time employees needed for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Hiring Pipeline - The total number of employees in the hiring pipeline for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

REQS - Number of hiring requisitions needed for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Experienced - Number of experienced employee hiring requisitions for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Contractors - Number of contractor (traveler) hiring requisitions for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

STARTS -  Number of employees that will start working for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Experienced - Number of experienced employees that will start working for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Contractors - Number of contractors that will start working for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

International - Number of International nurses that will start working for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

New Grads - Number of New Grads that will start working for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Orientees - Number of employees that will be oriented each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

On Leave Staff - Number of On Leave Staff for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit and position group.

Active Staff - Total Active Staff for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit, and position group.

Core FT - Total core staff that work full time for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit, and position group.

Supplemental Need FTE - Total FTE need for supplemental staff for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit, and position group.

Core Gap - FTE need for supplemental staff in order to cover the gap between available staff and needed staff for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit, and position group.

Unplanned - FTE need for supplemental staff in order to cover unplanned shortages for each calendar month for the selected facility, unit, and position group.

The below information will pop up when adding a hiring plan

Annual Turnover - Percentage for annual turnover for this position group based on the previous year’s data. 

Annual Unplanned Absence Hours - Percentage of unplanned absence hours for this position group based on the previous years data.

Other Non-Patient Care Time - Percentage of hours for non-patient care activities (training, meetings, shift hand-off, etc.) for this position group based on the previous years data.

Low Census Actions - Typical actions when Low Census requires a reduction in the number of staff on the schedule for this position group.

Flex Out - Percentage of low census adjustments where staff are flexed to a different unit.

Call-Off - Percentage of low census adjustments where staff are called-off based on previous years data.

No Changes - The percentage that calculates once you add in the flex out percentage and the call off percentage (should total 100%).  The percentage that calculates should reflect a percentage of no changes when low-census adjustments are suggested.

Orientation Timings by Staff Type

International Req To Start (weeks) - Number of weeks it typically takes between the placement of an international requisition for a international employee and the start date of the employee.

New Graduate Req To Start (weeks) - Number of weeks it typically takes between the placement of a new grad requisition for a new grad employee and the start date of the employee.

Experienced Req To Start (weeks) - Number of weeks it typically takes between the placement of a new hire requisition for a permanent employee and the start date of the employee.

Contractor Req To Start (weeks) - Number of weeks it typically takes between the placement of a new hire requisition for a contract employee and the start date of the employee.

Orientation Time (in weeks) - Number of weeks it typically takes to orient a new hire once they start working.
